A penetrating T-28 and three subcloud aircraft made coordinated studies of the reflectivity core and inflow areas of the storm while supported by Grover 10 cm radar coverage. A line of vigorous cells that grew at the western end of the storm was also probed by the four aircraft. One cell in this line was penetrated three times by the T-28 over a span of nearly thirty minutes, yielding a graphic illustration of the evolution of the ice process.
